Dr. Manjeet Chadha

Manjeet Chadha, MD, MHA, FASTRO, FACR Distinguished Physician Honoree 2018
Dr. Chadha is Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and the Director of the department at Mount Sinai Downtown. Prior to this appointment she served as Associate Chair of the department of Radiation Oncology Beth Israel Medical Center, and was the Director for Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Programs for Radiation Oncology at Continuum Cancer Centers of New York. Dr. Chadha is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and Fellow of the American Society of Radiation Oncology, an honor bestowed on highly select Radiation Oncologists’ in America.
Dr. Chadha received her medical education in India. Graduating at the top of her class from Amritsar Medical College, she completed her post-graduate training in Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She also has a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.
Dr. Chadha’s clinical and research interests primarily focus on improving treatment and clinical outcomes in breast and gynecologic cancers while aiming to preserve quality of life of cancer survivors. She has authored over 170 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, book chapters and invited articles.
As a mentor, Dr. Chadha has an extensive educator’s portfolio of trainees/residents, fellows, and medical students. Her research/publications endorse her collaborative and mentoring skills. Widely respected in her field, she is a frequent speaker at national/ international academic venues.
Throughout her career, Dr. Chadha has championed quality in cancer care delivery and has introduced several quality improvement initiatives to impact change. She currently serves as co- chair of Mount Sinai Cancer Multidisciplinary System-wide Quality Improvement Committee.
Dr. Chadha has served as President of the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, and President of the New York Roentgen Society. She is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Komen Foundation, and has served on Manhattan’s Regional Board of Advisors of the American Cancer Society. She is in the Castle Connolly’s list of America’s Top Doctors, and since 2006 has also been on the roster of Best Doctors, and Top Oncologist in America.
In summary, Dr. Chadha is a recognized leader in the field of medicine with contributions to patient care in oncology, clinical research, and medical education. She acknowledges her responsibility as a treating physician with deep gratitude and humility, and is inspired by her patients and thousands of courageous women facing the diagnosis of cancer.
