Dr. Reddy

Dr. Reddy was born in India in a small village Mahammadapuram, Andhra Pradesh. After his initial education, he completed his MBBS from Osmania Medical College in 1959. He then pursued his post-graduation in Pediatrics from Bombay. Later served as Professor of Pediatrics at the Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad till 1968, during which time he established a 20 bedded hospital in his village to serve the needy. In 1968 Dr. Reddy arrived in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship at the world-renowned Boston children’s hospital and medical center, and later completed his fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NY. He then returned to India in 1973 as a professor of Pediatric Cardiology to impart his knowledge and offer his services at the Osmania Medical College and Niloufer Hospital. Dr. Reddy subsequently returned to the United States in 1976 to enhance his own children’s education and further his knowledge in pediatric cardiology. He has since been Director, Vice Chairman and Chairman at various esteemed institutions of NY in the last four decades. He is a published author and clinical researcher.
Dr. Reddy has been to many countries and led various medical missions to India, Guatemala and Haiti. He is a “gem of exceptional glitter” of the Indian society in New York for the past five decades. He acted as leader of the community and fostered Indian culture to a generation of Indians in the US, presided over several National Indian organizations. He instilled the value of service to God and peace to the soul to millions of Indians. He is instrumental in the establishment of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Center in Hyderabad, India which serves millions of Cancer patients on charity.
He is still active as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Hindu Temple Society of NA in Flushing, NY. He is an ardent and generous giver to the society both in US and India. Dr. Reddy remains down to earth and has an unassuming personality which is contagious. Dr. Gaddam has been blessed with a dedicated wife Smt.Jyotsna and 3 beautiful children, six grandchildren and even better a great grandchild. He enjoys music, traditional Indian literature, history and most of all the company of his friends. He finds that there is nothing more wonderful in life than to have good friends, a loving family and ability to teach and to continuously learn. He believes learning is a lifelong business opportunity.
